  I had a disturbing experience at the Walmart ,Lockport, Il Pharmacy and would like to share it . I left Silver Cross Hospital with a patient that was just released from the hospital with a pain prescription that was needed . I tried to hand in a prescription to the Pharmacy and the prescription was refused since it was a few minutes before 7:00 PM. The patient was just released,and was waiting in my car, and required the medicine for pain management. I explained the situation and the young woman still refused to help. She said their computer would be down at 7:00 and it would have to wait for it until the next day. She told I needed to go to a Walgreen's 24 hr. pharmacy. When I asked where the nearest Walgreen's 24 hour pharmacy was, she said she did not know, and her fellow employee said in New Lenox, Il , on Route 30. After driving half way there , I pulled over and called just to sure they were a 24 hour facility, and I am glad I did. They were not. I had to call around, and drive all the way to the Walgreens in Lemont, Il. who professionally filled the prescription. I feel I was not treated in a professional manner by the Pharmacy Department and that they were uncaring. I have worked in Retail, and when closing time was close, we always stayed open until the last customer that was in the store was served. Many times this extended after closing time. One would think a Pharmacy would especially want to act in a professional manner. So many times the medicine they dispense is vital .

  Every time I contact this Walmart Lockport pharmacy by phone or as a walk in, I am impressed. They are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Their customer service is the reason that I gave 5 stars. I feel that they really care about our well being. We used to go to Walgreens which is nice too, however since we pay out of pocket for our medicine, we have saved a lot of money by switching to Walmart.
